This looks cool: DiscoveryKids.com lets you make your own mummy (sample text: "Ramose's body has been washed in the waters of the Nile, shaved and brought here for embalmment. Your first task is to remove his brain using the right tool").

One of my favorite things about New York life is the neighborhood street fair -- greasy food, greasy carnies, and an old-school feeling of community. During the summer these things pop up all over the place (with Little Italy's Feast of San Gennaro being the biggest and most famous). The S.S. Fun! visits the San Antonio Abate festival in Astoria, eats zeppole, and gets hassled by a dart-game proprietor.
